Log In So Steam has announced a slew of hardware, marking its venture out of simply being a game distribution service. Personally I find the prices to be slightly on the high side for Steam Machines, but Steam Link and Steam Controller might carve a great niche for PC gamers who want to play games easily on their TV. I'm definitely considering buying the latter two since they cost less than a hundred together. What are your thoughts on Steam's new hardware?
Not interested. Can't use VR, don't really care for the controller, and the machines are just overpriced Linux PCs that are pretty much useless for gaming. No thanks.
Well, Steam machines were announced over a year ago, but now the first few machines are ready. They're still expensive because they were originally designed for a high-end market with performance parts. Now they're being released closer to a point that the ordinary gamer can pick them up at a decent price. The price can only go down from here.
