I am considering the purchase of a T-fal Actifry multi-cooker. It, supposedly, allows you to cook food that tastes fried with only one tablespoon of oil. I get the feeling it works rather like a small convection oven while also somehow quickly and evenly dispersing the one tablespoon of oil. It has two tiers, so that you can basically fix an entire meal at once, assuming that there aren't more than two people eating (small version). They make a family size version, also; but I have no idea how many servings of any given thing you might fix in that one--plus, it costs a good bit more than the small one, which isn't cheap.
It sounds like a good idea. It's a little pricey, though, so I'd like to know more and really think about it before buying.
