I do this everywhere I go. Just because you have money doesn't mean it's right to let food go to waste. Your the one who ordered the food so you should be the one to pay and finish it. I don't get those people who look down on people who are not only making sure the food doesn't go to waste but also save money on another meal. Ok, so your rich and you can afford to not take back leftovers because it's a cheap thing to do but you have to realize that the restaurant will just throw the food away. Does it really make you a better person to waste food just to convince yourself that you have money?
Like someone else here said, if you're even at a buffet, that isn't a cool thing to do. But, if I'm paying over $20 a plate for a meal, and there's extra left over, and if the meal was especially good, you bet I'm asking for a doggy bag. In fact, if I'm going to Red Lobster, I'm taking some of those biscuits home every time! Go ahead, call me cheap, but call me full as well!
I don't see anything wrong in bringing leftover food, the only thing that matter is where you are eating. Some restaurants don't allow leftovers. They are very strict, especially thebuffet restaurants. In some restaurant i don't mind bringing home left over food. It is my money. I can do anything as long as it's not affecting other people.
This is what happens nearly every time I go out to eat, the portions are always too big and I can never get it all finished. I couldn't care less what any food snobs think, I'm not wasting food or money.
When I haven't finished all the food on my plate, then yes I do take it home with me. If I'm paying all that money I want to make sure that I get my money's worth. I mean they wouldn't have take out boxes if they didn't want you to take the food home. I couldn't care less what other people think. It's always good because then like you said it can save you money because it can be another meal. I think that this is a great thing to do.
