I love going to the Dollar Store to pick up snacks. But I do admit that I can get very carried away when I'm in there. I'm so busy tossing things in my basket since it's so cheap that when I get to the register I have a basket full of things. I go there to pick up miscellaneous things all the time, from party supplies to cleaning products.

I really like the Dollar Tree, you can certainly get a lot of good deals there and like OP said you can find a lot of good party favors and stuff for school there. But you know what I like even better, the 99 cent store. I pretty much lived off the 99 cent store in college, they have dry food items as well as refridgerated food items and meats and produce. You can find some pretty great deals there!

Dollar Tree is fantastic, you'll never be able to get so much stuff for such a little price.

And they're much better than Dollar General where generally everything is a lot more than a dollar.....

They should call Dollar Tree the $20 tree because that is how much you end up spending when you go in there. I am starting to shop at DT more frequently. I love that you can get personal hygiene items like deodorant, toothbrushes, etc for only $1. Around Christmas time I found the Sally Henson Nail Polish pens for $1. What a great deal! Even though a lot of people cringe at the thought of buying food at DT, I have bought some good items. Bags of frozen steam-able spinach and other veggies, small bags of Sargento cheese, snack items, etc. A lot of the stuff they sell is made in the USA. I just check it out thoroughly and make sure that I am getting a good deal, and that the stuff is fresh.

I also get all my nice Christmas stuff there and more. It's a great place to shop for most of the things that you need. I buy all my face lotions, hand lotions, hair products, washing products and greeting cards there. They also have a freezer section where you can get items for your dinner to cook and I enjoy them very much and I can't get enough of them. Everyone go check them out you will enjoy it as much as I do.

I agree. My mom always fusses...."We only came in here for one thing. Why am I spending $30 now!?" It's like no matter how quick and cheap you intend to be, there is always going to be something that jumps out and says "Buy me! I'm only a dollar!" Gah!

We recently got a Dollar Tree in my area and I'm completely hooked. But as other posters have said, it's really easy to get carried away because there's so much stuff that looks good and everything is $1.

I've had to start limiting myself and saying, "I'm going in there with this $20 bill and leaving my debit cards at home."
It's amazing how much money I've saved just by buying products there that I use every day, like dishwashing liquid, laundry soap and bar soap. I love the Dollar Tree, these days it's unusual to find a dollar store where everything actually is a dollar.

Ah yes, Dollar Tree is where I get paper towels and Toilet paper FREE. It is the only store I can find that sells Marcel Brand. They aren't the best paper towel in the world, but with my $1 coupon they are free free free. I just wish I could find more of these coupons more often. But when I find them I stock up as much as I can.

As far as I know we don't have Dollar Tree in Aus. However we definitely have many other stores that are very similar, and yes I do go to them on occassion.
I study Drama/Acting, so it can be a great place to pick up some cheap props sometimes! It's also very useful.

I have just recently been going to The Dollar Tree store. I like it a lot for certain items. I'm not sure what all the other ones have to offer but I have been to Dollar General also and bought a few things about a year ago. The Dollar Tree is closer to me so I have been going there recently. I love getting coloring books and stickers for my toddler most of all. I was looking at their gift bags the other day and they were some cute ones so I will go there for that type of thing too.

I've been in there a few times. There really are some good deals if you snoop around. I've gotten so many good deals from that store.

I love shopping at the Dollar Tree. I love the Dollar Tree's that carry frozen food. I stock up on the texas toast it's so much cheaper than buying it some where else. The kids also like the frozen snacks they carry. I also buy household supplies and items there to save money. The only thing I don't like to buyare toys they break the same day we buy them.

The Dollar Tree was my preferred "dollar store" when my kids were small, because as one person posted, it's good to go there and allow your kids to get two or three inexpensive toys. Whatever they bought, they would have so much fun playing with those toys. When they would break (as most do, rather quickly) it's no problem going back to the Dollar Tree in a couple of days and let the kids buy the same toy or some other toy.

As my kids got older, our trips to the Dollar Store have diminished. Now that my kids are teenagers, most of the time I go to Family Dollar.

I am also one of the Dollar tree lovers, they always seem to have some really good products for the incredible price of $1. The only problem I have ever had with the dollar store is that they say everything is a dollar and I have picked something up and it really is more then a dollar. I am thinking to myself and I am like isn't your slogan everything is a dollar. But aside from that only issue, I really enjoy the store.

I love the dollar tree, it's great for household cleaning products, treats for the kids, school supplies, home decorations whether it is for the holidays or just everyday, and don't forget about the household items like plates, glasses, and of course socks and hair things, so many things at the dollar tree, and just a Dollar , we love it, but you do have to watch it cause being everything is a dollar you can get carried away and spend more then you intended, but what the heck it's a dollar!!! Everybody loves Dollar Tree!!

I like that I can get things like zip bags and other supplies for $1 and that they have all of the different sizes. They also have things you wouldn't expect to find like products for humidity/moisture, yarn and other craft supplies, and even some electronic accessories. I buy my sunglasses there.

I have a Dollar Tree at a walking distance from my house in Canada and I must say that it comes in handy. I don't like that they have the $1.25 things like the Dollarama but considering all the things they have in stock - I'm not complaining. They have a great variance of things and it's never really that full. It seems almost like a waste to go to the corner store if I can walk 2 mins more and go to a dollar tree and pick up more than I need for a lower price.

I agree and love The Dollar Tree. They have some great useful items and the best part is they are only $1.00. As it gets closer to Thanksgiving, I will be visiting The Dollar Tree for foil trays as well as some decorations. It's always nice to save some money.
