I've been looking at some cheap air humidifiers recently as summer approaches and each day becomes Hotter and hotter. I'm just wondering what some of you would recommend as the best specs to look for when it comes to these. For the cheap ones, the only option I seem to have is one that doesn't have filters on it, neither permanent nor temporary. Through some research, I found that this is okay as long as I regularly clean the gadget, and I use distilled water. I also found that deviating from these methods could possibly cause some ailments since we will be breathing the vapor in. My problem is, I don't want to have to keep buying distilled water, so I would just like to ask if any of you might have some tips on what to do and what to buy in terms of having and keeping one with low maintenance effort.
