True, some people may complain online too, but would they prefer to remain anonymous and write it off as a bad mistake? I wrote a bad review of a Hilton hotel on Trip Advisor and they managed to figure out who I was (I am a Gold member) and offered me a free suite next time I was in the city (D.C), but I have never taken up the offer. Another poor review I left, the company figured it was me (due to the timing and the fact I had complained directly to them) and they tried everything to get me to take it down including 'harassing' me with phone calls to discuss things. All I wanted was a refund, as they had checked the save payment box without my knowledge. As I know I never checked a box I said it was unethical as I never ticked the box. My review stands and it may have damaged them, but they shouldn't automatically check boxes on orders.
