Sorry you had that experience...it might be worth it to consider some other, price comparable options next time. As for the current issue though, I would go back and return them since what she gave you was what you explicitly said you did not want. Not to mention you weren't even aware about the care kit, much less that it costs extra. Definitely bad business, doing things that way.
I do not understand Walmart in general. Although the prices are like no other retail store and they always try to beat other stores prices when asked, they have some of the worst under trainied employees known to man. 9 times out of 10 the Walmart Optical employee forgot or was poorly trained about how they should tell customers about all the charges and fees that comes with optical services. If I am looking for something in particular in Walmart and can't find it, my best bet is to keep searching for it instead of asking for customer assistance. Their is no sense in me and the employee hunting around when they should already know its location. I think alot of customers are in the same boat. They either have a problem with sales assistance, customer assistance or both. But because of the savings Walmart has compared to other retail store we ignore it and keep coming back.
You sound like me !! I went to Wal Mart last year for my glasses and it was a hassle from start to finish. I scheduled my appointment and I clearly wrote it down immediately on my calendar so I knew I wouldn't forget it. I show up for my appointment and they don't have me on their schedule. They manage to fit me in ( even though it was their mistake) and I wait over an hour!! My appointment was very rushed and the Dr. didn't spend much time with me at all. When I did pick out frames, they tried to pressure me into very expenses lenses. Ugghh. Just a really bad experience. I have no plans to use them in the future. Danyel
