I'm a Walmart shopper myself. The only time I stop at target is when I'm going to Starbucks anyway. Sometimes after I grab a snack I'll shop around a little but I rarely buy anything from the store.
Due to recent experiences with price matchers, I'm beginning to hate Walmart. Walmart allows people to price match and buy items at Walmart for the same price that they are on sale for at another store. Three times now, I have been in a long line with crying children while the person in front of me price matched each and every item. It's disgusting that someone would spend 30+ minutes on their individual transaction while there are 30 people in line behind them and the store is packed.
In terms of price I hear Walmart is cheaper but I refuse to shop there and only go to Target. I think Walmart's business practices are reprehensible and I refuse to give the company any money. I think the prices and selection at Target are reasonable and think that if I ever came across something that was a bit too expensive for my budget I would just pass on purchasing it instead of buying it at Walmart.
To me this is a no-brainer and there is no question in mind which store is superior. It is definitely Walmart. No Target in the United States or the world for that matter can compete with a Walmart Supercenter. The layout is better, it's open 24 hours, and they just have pretty much all the selection that you can ever need. I'm not saying Target will end up like K-mart someday, but to reach Walmart's status, Target has a lot of work ahead of itself.
I agree, Walmart gives a better deal on items than Target does. Also, Walmart has the savings catcher program that gives you the price difference of an item if it is sold somewhere else during the time you made your purchase. I have received a lot of money from this program for items that were sold at another store like Target. This feature keeps me coming back. However, I do like some items that Target sells over Walmart, such as dishes. I have always brought my dishware at Target.
I shop at walmart all the time I used to prefer it then to go to target that is until I figured out the sell system. I ran across this article in womens magazine were they talked about how to get more savings at your favorite stores well target was on there after reading this article though it helped me alot to learn how to save more money at target. Here is how it goes. Look at the tags on everything. The tiny number in the upper right hand corner shows how much percentage is marked down. Prices ending in .99 are full price. Anything ending in 8 or 4 ex. .88 .44 .04 .84 are marked down on clearance target marks down 15% 30% 50% 75% and 90% 10-14 days it stays marked down. The price cut scheduled Monday- baby, electronics, stationary, kids clothes. Tuesday- food, pets, linens, womens clothes. Wednesday- health and beauty, lawn and garden, mens clothing and toys.
