I hate my school books. The content is actually very interesting, but I think that is because I hate exams so much that by extension I hate the text books too. So for the first time I realized the value of audio books. Since I had budgetary constraints, I'd read them out loud and record the relevant part, saving myself some change.
Honestly, and I know this might draw some hate, but the Bible. Any version of it. It's an incredibly important piece of literature, and I find its stories fascinating, but the book itself is an utter slog. As soon as I start hitting the generations of people who grew up and begat other generations my eyes start to glaze over. The same goes for Le Morte D'Arthur, a long series of stories about King Arthur and his knights. It's the classic depiction of the Round Table, and the search for the Holy Grail is pretty interesting, but so much of it is just... ech. Dull.
