I'm just curious, as I'm past those teenage years but I still get occasional spots here and there. Any ideas?

I do use Clean & Clear Facial Cleanser, and it helps stop major breakouts, but I was wondering if you guys use any other methods for yourselves? Maybe I can try one out that will almost completely eliminate these annoying dots.

I already passed that stage of adolescence in which every day had a fight against acne, but still I keep watching. I think the key is to clean the face. Avoid oily skin is another key in order to keep that little problem. Some people use special products, while some prefer to use simpler solutions, such as water and soap. Try to clean your face as gently as possible. When the problem is more serious, it is advisable to take care of certain foods (fried foods, sweets, etc). Genetics plays a role in this type of care. Sometimes you need a treatment for facial acne and other cases over time the skin problem or disappears leaving no scars on the face and the body depends on the magnitude.

I try to shave every 2 days or so to keep my skin clean and also use a glycerin soap, they're really cheap and help you clean your face up.

And well, I took Accutane last year, but my acne isn't 100% gone :/

You don't really have to do anything about your acne. You just have to make sure to clean your face from dusts with a cleanser and water. You don't have to put cosmetic products on your face because it might aggravate your lesions unless of coarse prescribed by your dermatologist.

I know an older woman who swears by using lemon juice on her face after she washes it with regular soap and water. She's in her fifties and her skin looks fantastic, so maybe she's on to something, haha?

A good skin care routine is key, but good products are necessary. There's no point in just picking random cleansers, treatments and moisturizers off the counter, that are most likely filled with irritating ingredients, rub them on your face and think you're taking care of your skin, bad products will just make it worse. Learn a thing or two about ingredients before you decide to buy facial products. There's usually no need for accutane if you're able to pick the right products and use them correctly, most people are convinced that acne is incurable with topical treatments since they just pick a bunch of rubish from clearasil, clean & clear, etc...because a commercial showed a prepubescent boy with baby skin use it.

I suffered quite badly with acne as a teenager, especially on the back of my neck area. At the time I was eating a lot of candy and junk food so maybe that had a part in it as well as the teenage hormones. I tried ever cream going at the time but they never worked for me, I had to just bare with it until I grew out of them. I suppose if I had changed my diet at the time and exercised more, It might have helped.

I don't really get spots these days, only the occasional black head. lol!! I exercise regulary and eat healthy food.

To a certain degree, I think acne in inevitable for certain skin types. I cleanse, tone and moisturize my skin daily and still struggle with blackheads, pimples, etc. The best you can do it eat a healthy diet, with lots of healthy fats (avocado, nuts, seeds, etc) and drink lots and lots of water. Also, try to find a skin care regime that works best for you. I can't say I have come across the perfect combination for my skin yet. But I do know when I'm eating healthy and actively drinking green tea and water, my skin is clearer.

Sometimes it's hereditary and no matter what you do it will be difficult to fight it. Your case however seems like it's treatable. What helps me cut down on acne is to cut out certain foods in my diet that are triggers for acne. I noticed when I drink caffeine, white bread, and whole milk, I get a pimple only hours after consuming these products. You can test your own skin and find out what triggers your acne. Just eat something and wait a few hours, if you notice a blemish start to form, chances are that product could be cut out of your diet.

I suffer from little bumps on my hands and toes sometimes that are filled with a watery substance. I have been to specialists et al and tried everything and nothing works. I think it has to do with allergies.
I found Witch Hazel and it gets rid of them in a day after I get a break out. It dries them our really good without bother the rest of my skin.

I still get breakouts of acne mostly on my nose. Big ones. Once I feel it coming I start cleaning with Witch Hazel. It takes the redness out and gets rid of the breakout faster then using other acne products.

I've heard of using lemon juice but it definitely doesn't work for all kinds of skin. It can make sensitive ones get VERY irritated, and therefore make acne even worse.

I agree with MoniqueSeibel. Find out your

and go from there to find an appropriate skin care regime. I have sensitive skin and it's really challenging to develop the right routine. I drink a lot of water and sometimes a lot of green tea, but I haven't found an improvement in my acne. I take fish oil supplements for the healthy fat and there is a bit of an improvement. I do have long hair that I only wash 2 times per week- perhaps I need to change my pillow case more often so that the dirt from my hair doesn't transfer to my face... and I'm sure I could use a lot more beauty sleep! A lot of people swear by the acne.org regimen. They put a big emphasis on being gentle with your face as drying it out or being to abrasiveness can cause more acne. Sometimes what you're doing to clean up your face could be making it worse. The regimen is simple, but it wasn't quite enough for me.

I use MSM soap to keep my acne in check. I still get breakouts but they're not as bad as before. My problem is mainly acne marks left behind! My skin is very soft and smooth for the most part but I feel like those positives are overshadowed by the scaring. I was told chemical peels would help, which I started doing once a week two weeks ago. I used a very mild peel so I didn't get any peeling or flaking of skin, just much softer skin lol.

I agree with PK86. Being gentle is the key, which means using cleansers that aren't harsh and washing the face with delicate movements. Change your pillowcase as often as possible and use a 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide medication morning and night. This should give you results.

A yogurt mask is good to get rid of acne and its scars, and also prevent new ones from forming. My daughter applies this regularly and her skin has cleared up considerably.

Since I started washing my face with honey, I do not get any breakouts...at all. If, however, I get a little breakout (especially at 'that time of month') I put some tea-tree oil on it and the pimple disappears within 24 hours. Alternatives are lemon, toothpaste and/or some aspirin (but do not leave on longer than 5 or 10 minutes).

I've never heard of using tea tree oil for acne, but I guess it makes sense. Tea tree is an antibacterial agent, so I can imagine that being helpful. Some people talk about using sugar scrubs on their face... tea tree oil sounds like it would be a good ingredient for that.
