So I'm looking into getting my first credit card, and I want to save as much money with it as possible. :)

Do interest rates matter a lot? I don't really plan on having overdue balance..

Also, are rebates good? Mine offers 6% rebates on groceries but I have to spend a considerable amount on other things for this to take effect. Is it worth it?

Finally, what do you think of closing the account when the waived annual fee is over?

The main thing I'm concerned with in regards to a credit card is the interest rate. The second thing I'm concerned with are the rewards. Although I typically don't use credit cards enough to get to the rewards part of things. Nor do I typically carry a balance from month to month unless I'm having an emergency or cash flow issues.
