The worst product I ever got was probably the Oven Glove. It's way less thermally protected then an oven mitt. It's just another cheap 19.95 product that aims to be better than stuff that's cheaper than it.
The Perfect Pancake! OMG! I was so excited to buy this thing and right when I went to flip it....all the dough leaked out of the side. Lets just say...I was angry!
I bought a Homedics massager. It's loud, makes you itchy from all the excessive vibration and doesn't even take the pain away. It vibrates so hard on the low setting that, quite honestly, I dare not ever try the high setting.
I bought a headset for 5$ off of Amazon. The sound quality was terrible, the microphone barely ever worked, and of you shook Orr lightly the whole thing sounded like it was going to fall apart... It bike the next day. Worst 5$ I had ever spent...
I would have to agree with another poster on the Perfect Pancake. Half of the pancake stuck when I flipped it and it was a gigantic mess all over my oven. I sprayed it really well with Pam, too. As for services, I don't know. Probably Amazon Payments, but that's just because the account specialists cannot be reached by phone, only email. You'd think that that particular department SHOULD have a phone because if something's wrong with your phone, you need help right then! And they were absolute dolts through email. Even though I kept giving them detailed info, they kept coming back to me saying the problem is fixed and showing me direct deposits that went through without understanding that I was trying to tell them that though they were going through, they were all being sent back. Ugh.
I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with the "Rocket Chef." Well, it turned out to be a steaming pile of you know what. I bought this because on TV it seemed to do a good job of cutting and dicing. When I got it home the blade kept falling off when I tried to chop ice, cookies, and large vegetables. After a couple of weeks struggling with this item, I decided to throw it in the back of my cupboard and forget about it. The infomercials made it look so fun and exciting, but once I got mine it wasn't anything like the commercial.
Oh God. The Herbal Essences home dye kit. My hair is naturally a very dark brown, almost black. I bought the Herbal Essences natural look kit from Walmart in a Jet Black, because I wanted to darken my hair just a smidge. So I follow the directions, leave it on for the appointed amount of time, rinse it out, wash my hair, etc. Well, then I blew it out to see what it looked like dry....and lo and behold, my hair had an ugly booger green tinge to it...I kid you not. It was darker, but the shine product they use, or something, reacted oddly with my hair. I called and complained to the company, and the guy on the phone, who couldn't have been any older than myself, was just like, "Yeah, that can happen sometimes. You really shouldn't use this brand unless you're blonde." I'm like, "Well WHY DON'T YOU PUT THAT ON THE BOX??" Needless to say, I was NOT happy.
Amazon Payments was only a hassle for me because I was a little silly. I wanted to check if I still had some MP3 credit I got from an offer and used the One-Click purchase (the only option) for some random $5 album as a test. The transaction was immediately placed and now I essentially have $5 wasted on an album I don't even care for.
Lenovo Thinkpad. I know there are good ones made, but mine wasn't one of them. Junk. It would crash all the time, RIGHT in the middle of a big project and I would lose everything.
Most recently is was the bounce dryer bar. I got one and the third day the glue came unstuck and the bar shattered all over in my dryer. I've only had my dryer for 2 months and now it has bits and pieces of bounce dryer bar smashed and smeared all over the inside.
I used to have acne and the worst product that i came across was the Clearasil. The clearasil face wash works really good for first few days but then it leaves your skin all red and really dry and does not get rid of acne at all.
The cheap budget Bic Razors. They cut you to shreds. Before you know it your shaving creams turned red. Not good. But then I don't like an electric shave. So if it is a choice between the electric and Bic, I'll risk the Bic. Just have to shave very gingerly. They are OK after you have used them a few times and they go a little bit blunt. When they are new, they cut really easily. The fact that they don't have a swivel head doesn't help, but then as I said they are cheap. Still cheap, shouldn't mean potentially slitting your throat (OK a slight exaggeration).
The worst product that I have used is Vaseline shampoo, because I got lots and I mean lots of dandruff when I used it. The other product that I also used which had poor quality is a pair of cheap China made earphones that have been given to me as a gift. The earphones only lasted 2 months.
The worst product I've ever used was probably the Bump Its, or whatever it's called. Those little bump things that go into your hair to give you the "perfect" bump- didn't work at all. They kept falling out and they wouldn't stay in place, it ended up in the trash. Never trust those infomercials.
Agreed. I shop at Walmart all the time but it's definitely because of the prices and location. It's not for the customer service. I normally know where everything is in my local Walmart store and I find what I'm looking for without any help. But they recently did some remodeling ,so the locations of some departments have changed. I've had 2 incidents recently where multiple Walmart associates directed me to the wrong part of the store. They don't know where things are. They don't communicate with each other or give the same consistent answer so they contradict each other. I'll still shop at Walmart because the things I buy are cheap there, but I'm glad I know my way around the store because if I had to rely on their help, I would be screwed.
I am so surprised by this. I own two and I love them to pieces. I have never heard anyone say anything bad about ThinkPads. You really must have gotten a lemon. The absolute worse product that I have purchased in my entire life was a Packard Bell computer. Complete and utter garbage. On the bright side, it forced me to learn about computers.
I don't remember from what company, but i bought a can opener at a LIDL store for something like 3€, and the moment i tried to use it to open a can of peaches, the blade just snaps right into my finger, leaving me with a nasty cut. Never again i tried to open a can, just leave it to my friends!
The worst product that I think I ever purchased was one of those bracelets that was supposed to keep you balanced. I think it was called an iBracelet. I got one and gave the 2nd one to my dad, who often loses his balance. I should have known from the informercial that it was a piece of crap, and in hindsight I deserved to lose $40,but it arrived as a string attached to some metalic id plate.Just ridiculous. The good news is, there was a class action settlement and I got back $30 in the mail last year. So, my friends, there are happy endings.
Out of all the products that I have bought in my lifetime, the worst experience that I've ever had has to be the X-box when it originally came out way back in 2005. I was so excited to get cracking with whatever game was available at launch and the thing red rings on me (for those of you that don't know that signifies that there is some sort of hardware failure). I talked to customer support and they were very gruff and not very interested in my warranty claim. I eventually got another one free of charge but I was so disappointed at what Microsoft was putting on the market.
Yes the ring of death, the same thing happened when my kids bought their X-box. This is what someone told us years later. Sony PS3 was going to be launched before Microsoft could get the new Xbox out. So Microsoft was in a mad dash to compete with Sony and they knowingly distributed defective Xbox 360's just to get it in the marketplace to compete with the PS3. I know, pretty nasty of them. And you are lucky that you did get another on free because not alot of people did. But anyway, my personal worst purchase ever was a simple stick deodorant. I bought it at the dollar store. I figurd what is the worst that could happen. But sure enough, my armpits were on fire and I broke out in a really red nasty bumpy rash. It lasted for a few days and then eventually went away. But those two days were a nightmare. It hurt so bad. I definetly learned my lesson with that.
