Cherry is always my number one favorite, though I've found you usually can't go wrong with anything red. Strawberry, raspberry, it's all good..
I used to be a big orange fan.. everything orange. Now I know what's in those colours and flavours... no thanks.
Mine would be mango, banana, strawberry, and four seasons, especially when it comes to juice. You also can't go wrong with chocolate.
Why artificial flavour? I prefer to avoid artificial ingredients and flavourings, I prefer products which have natural flavourings. My favourite natural flavourings would be strawberry, raspberry, vanilla, cinnamon and apple. Many manufacturers use natural flavourings nowadays because the public no longer want artificial ingredients in their food.
You should probably read up on "natural flavours" too then, unless you're ok with some of the things they use. I personally stay away from that being listed in ingredients. I don't trust vagueness.. if it's an ok ingredient, there should be no problem saying what it is. They really do need to force honest labelling.
Aside from the whole "natural vs artificial" flavor thing, i think i would go with red/strawberry. Always a big fan of the taste and is something that you really can't go wrong with most of things that has strawberries on them.
Bubblegum for me. It's a rare flavor that only pops up in snow cone stands so whenever I see a beverage or any sweet treat like ice cream that offers bubblegum as a flavor, I'd choose it. Either that or cotton candy, but that's even more rare.
I'm gonna have to go with mango or watermelon. These are my two favorite fruits so therefore whenever I get a chance to eat the artificial flavors I immediately go for it. It's absolutely delicious by of course it will never compare to the real thing.
I was rather surprised to find out that Grenadine, a common sweet red syrup used in cocktails, was actually made from Pomegranate, not Cherries. For the longest time I used to tell people they could simply use the juice from a jar of Marschino cherries as a substitute for it - until someone schooled me on that on another forum, lol. I was also grossed out to discover that artificial vanilla is sometimes made from excretions from the anal glands of beavers.
You'd be surprised to know what most flavours are. And not all use the same source.. the bigger the brand, the more shady they get. Always question flavours that aren't listed. If it says artificial flavours or natural flavours or even cherry flavour or orange flavour, look into it or buy something else. If you care about that sort of thing anyway.
Well, the natural flavourings come from natural sources, that's what matters to me. For example, strawberry laces sweets are usually made with a combination of apple juice, carrot etc to formulate the strawberry flavour. The food manufacturers hire scientists to experiment and create these flavours naturally, it's amazing how they do it.
Yeah, I know all about their scientists. That's pretty much only if it says on the labelling that it's made from juices. Even then, what's in those juices. The hidden ingredients in our food these days is astounding. When the big guys aren't clear as day, you know it's something they don't want to say.... I should be a poet lol.
Ever since i've started having a taste of natural flavors I can't do the artificial flavors too much anymore. It's just not the same. I guess if I just had to choose, then i'd go with strawberry. As a kid, some of my favorite candies were strawberry flavored.
I am not a big fan of artificial flavourings and I do not even encourage people to use them. I once read a study that, artificial flavourings are some of the biggest contributory factors to cancers, thus I would encourage people to really stay away from them. There are plenty of natural, safe flavourings people can use on their drinks and shakes especially from fruits and herbs and I suggest we look at that route, much healthier and definitely less trouble for later on in life. Remember the saying you are what you eat, and what is going on in the inside will be reflected on the outside. Thus I say be careful of what you put in, in your system.
