My personal favorite time for music was the '90s and early 00s rap. It's my greatest weakness. I'm talking about the likes of B.I.G, Nas, 2 Pac, Snoop Dogg, Wu Tang, among other greats and the classic rappers that followed. The 90s are said to be the greatest era of rap ever! You had labels that we started from the streets like Bad Boy and Death Row who knew the real way to make the music which the bigger labels did not!

How about you, which era did you love and what specific genre if any?

I feel you, OutKast is definitely one of my favorite groups that spawned in the 90's. Andre 3000 and Big Boi bodied every beat thrown their way and made amazing songs. Nas dropped Illmatic in the 90's which is just another reason I love that era. At the same time, I think the current era of rap is headed in a fantastic direction as well. With rappers like ScHoolboy Q, Kendrick, Freddie Gibbs, groups like Pro Era, The Underachievers, and Flatbush Zombies pioneering the new generation, it's safe to say that there's still some great music being made.

70's 80's and 90's into old school lovers rock, rnb, hip hop and garage. They don't make tunes how they used to although I do like some contempary artists such as Melanie Fiona. You cant beat the likes of Teena Marie,Erykah Badu, Kool G Rap and RA the Rugged Man at least not in my opinion. Too much autotune, lip syncing and commercialisation nowadays.

My favorite era of music was during the late 1990s to the early 2000s. This was the time when alternative music really shined above the rest with bands like The Calling, Wheatus, Lifehouse, Goo Goo Dolls and Nickleback became houseful names. This time period was also my adolescent years so the music during this time really stuck to my head.

I think I like the current era of music the most. The past eras were also pretty good, but I think in the recent years, my taste in music has really gotten a gift since my favorite genres such as dance and pop are getting made with a lot more integrity and precision. However, all in all, I think all musical generations have something good about them, and I do still have my particular favorites in each one. It's just that this generation's music is the one that appeals to me the most.

I like the tightness and complexity of music in the baroque era. I like the emotion of music in the late classical/early romantic era. For popular music the 80s or 90s. I really don't like the style of music now. Everything is too electronic for me. You would think with autotune and computers people would write more complex music that physically can't be played or sung but it's the complete opposite.

My absolute favorite is heavy metal from the 80's and 90's. I love Bon Jovi, Metallica, Poison ( well they were more of a hair band) Alice Cooper. I am that mom in the car of Monsters Univercity listening to metal while I wait for the kids. Unfortunately I relate all to well to the song 1985. Madonna, Cyndi Lauper I loved to. Aerosmith is always a great band along with Motley Crew and Cinderella.

My favorite eras are those pre-2000 music. Songs then had beautiful music and meaningful lyrics especially during the 80's and 90's. These eras are most notable for great movie theme songs. Back then, theme songs played a huge part in making a movie experience great. I stopped listening to music after the 2000's because I don't like them.

I am also stuck in the 90's. I like many of the great grunge and post punk bands of that era. But when I really want to relax and travel far away in my mind, I listen to music from the 1930's. There is something in that era that appeals to my soul. I have an old record player where I can play my favourite records from that time. :)
I think every era has produced some great artists and unforgettable music.

I am very much into jazz and the old school R&B, MoTown, The Temptations, Reggae, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind and Fire are my favorite oldies. Present day John Legend is good more ballad type.

I like most music genre, Show Tunes, Easy Listening and Smooth Jazz.

My tastes in music change frequently. Each era has it's 'golden' artists and great songs. I'm the sort of person who filters out the average from the excellent and because of that I don't have a clear favorite. Nonetheless the 90s did see a great improvement in musical standards. Songs released in the 90s were of much higher quality [artistically] than any other time. These days you may hear a good song maybe once in a year but back in the 90s almost every artiste had to sing well in order to compete against better artistes.

My favorite was the 90's and especially when the boy band era was really big. I just loved Backstreet Boys, N'sync, 98 degrees, and 5ive they were pretty much the reason why I am so thankful to have been growing up around that era because I was lucky enough to listen to their music.

Now my taste in music varies I really like way too many to list.

90's rock is where it is at for me. Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, RHCP, etc....

So many great bands to come out of that decade!

I agree with you on the 90's era of music. The 90's were the golden era of R&B. They do not make music like that anymore. In my opinion. Today's music is pure garbage.

My favorite era of music is the 70's. Marvin Gay, the temptations, all that soul music was so great. I also loved the disco age because I loved to dance. Those were the days. We will never have music like that again. It is nice that they are still playing it even now.

My favorite music era is the late 60's and early '70's, favoring the early 70's. There was just so much heart and soul to that music. Something that can never be duplicated. By the mid to late 70's, the music dramatically changed though. It doesn't have the same feel as the older music. But it's good to see that a lot of people enjoy later music. I just couldn't really get into it at the time it came out. Still can't.

I personally like modern music. I know everyone will probably say it stinks, but it's my personal tastes. What sounds good to one person might not to another.

I like the music during the span of 1998 to 2007. This was the time when I think there was a lot of variety in music. There was alternative, rock, pop, hiphop, rap metal, metal, slow rock, punk, and everything else. One other reason which may have influenced me to pick this era ass the best era for music is that this span of time was my days of adolescence. It was the time wherein I lived and breathed music. :)

My favorite era of music are the classical and the romantic. I think during these times, music were given so much importance and received great expectations, the reason why the musicians-composers during these times were able to create the most excellent music we have heard in human history, the greatest music. The music during these times were like living. They were able to communicate to us and change us. They were so powerful and meaningful. They were magical. They were miracles. I sometimes wish that I lived during those eras, when I was able to witness those first-hand and be with the musicians personally, so I could talk to them and know them.
