I never liked to clean The House, organize and do all those boring house chores that my mom always made me do when i lived at my parents' home. I'm afraid that even now that I live by myself, I still hate them just as much if not more, because I have to do them all by myself now. However, some chores I actually ended up learning to like, and others I learned to tolerate. I learned to tolerate washing clothes and washing the dishes. And as crazy as it sounds, I recently started to actually enjoy ironing clothes. Yes, enjoy!! I will iron my clothes in front of the TV, and sometimes I spend over one hour doing that!! I don't even feel like I'm doing a chore! ! Do you have any house chores you enjoy, or even that you don't hate as much as others?
When I was little my chore of choice was vacuuming. I used to listen to music and make the house shiny! These days I like washing clothes and doing the dishes a lot. Washing the clothes, what's not to like? Put the clothes and the detergents in the washing machine, press a button and you're done Doing the dishes has a calming effect on me. There's something nice in seeing all the dirt go away. And I have to agree with you on ironing! It's a fun chore. Even more so when you watch TV or listen to music.
I also prefer washing dishes by hand versus using a dishwasher. If I can use a scented powder, I like vacuuming. However, I also like steam cleaning carpet because the results are immediate. Once, I lived in a place where 20+ units had to share a washer/dryer set. I had no problem going to the laundry on an off day with my books, detergent and music.
Here's another vote for laundry. That's my favorite chore, too. I love the scent soap and the freshly rinsed laundry. Next favorite chore will be hanging newly rinsed linens to dry on a line out in the yard under the sun. Laundry chore leaves me looking forward to clean and nice smelling clothes the day after. I think it's more about the olfactory sensation that makes it my favorite. I don't even use a front loading washing machine. You could imagine how heavy this chore is for me, and yet I love doing it.
My favorite chore around the house is washing the dishes, as long it's no big items like pots and pans. If I have a few plates, glasses, cups, bowls, etc to wash then I just zone out while doing them, it's actually very relaxing.
My favorite house chore is washing and folding my towel to place in my bathrooms and sometimes mopping my floors. I turn on my music and I go at it. It doesn't take me long but I love to fold my towels sometimes I hang them on my cloths line and just enjoy the freshness of linen smell from my washing powder.
I have a couple house chorus which I really enjoy doing. My favorite would have to be vacuuming. I love vacuuming and also swiping. I also enjoying doing laundry. I think any chore can be fun if you have some music blasting to get you in the groove.
