I'm currently making a big 0.02% on my checking account and I do not have a savings account. What are you currently earning in interest on your accounts, if any?

Before the housing market crashed, I remember making a good 6-8% in interest on saved money. Never huge amount, but I would make about a $100 a month in interest a month. Does anyone else remember this time period?

Back in the 80's there were interest rates much higher, did anyone here get in on the high interest and make some money?

I really don't know about interest rates because I am a non believer. My wife has around 1500€ in one of those long term accounts and each year she receives more or less 20€ interests, from which the state takes 5€ as taxes, so 15€ per year, really, are they joking??

My account doesn't gain interest at all. I have a savings account, but the interest rate is so low that it doesn't even matter. I don't think it's a good way to save money at all.
