I really need to get a new phone, I've had my Droid Bionic since fall of 2011, and it is very long in the tooth at this point. I am debating if I should just hold out on the new Samsung S5 or if something even bigger is going to drop in the next month or so. The new Samsung honestly just looks like more of the same from what I have seen - I don't see any revolutionary new features in it thus far. But at the same time, I want to get a cutting edge phone so it will last me at least two years before I need to replace it. I figure if I get a cheaper older model, it is only going to fall behind the technology even sooner.
A phone is a pretty big investment, I'd recommend getting the best and latest one you can afford. Android's development has grown and been growing really fast so it's beneficial to have a phone that can handle the latest features and firmware updates. Similar to iOS in that regard, some older models that aren't even two years old have some little issues with the latest versions of software. I'm curious about the HTC One as far as Android phones go. My friend has an LG that she regrets having bought. Samsung seems to be the most popular brand, going by Amazon trends. Hope you find a good one.
