Hello everyone. For the computer forum I decided to start a new thread on what OS you guys use. There are many to choose from, but the primary ones are Windows, OSX and Linux (And it's variants). I use Ubuntu 13.10, and it's the only OS I have installed. I enjoy using it and it works pretty well for pretty much everything I need to use. How about you?

I use Windows 8, but I'm not entirely happy with it. It's kind of awkward, even after a couple of months of use with it. I don't hate it enough to jump the Windows ship, or downgrade, but it's not great. I have limited experience with Linux, and little with Mac, so I'm kind of stuck with Windows.

I have always used Windows, and I've never tried other alternatives. I like playing games too, so I don't think I will be content using Linux, Ubuntu or Mac as my main OS. Right now I'm using Windows 7.

I have a laptop and a desktop computer. For my desktop, I use Ubuntu. I really enjoy using it. In fact, I am not using iTunes for my iPod. What I use is the Banshee app in the Ubuntu to transfer media files into my iPod. I've also tried different Linux operating systems like the Fedora. But the rest that I've tried are not easy to use. Ubuntu is the only one I found easy. For my laptop, since I just bought it, I am using the pre-installed Windows 8. For now, I don't have complaints about it. It's working perfectly fine, although at first I was having trouble using it because it's really different from its predecessor.

Finally after clinging to XP for far too long upgraded my system.

I now use Windows 7. It's definitely not the best OS I have ever used but I find it more convenient because there are more free, open-source software that run on windows than any other OS. Since I love free stuff, that played a part in helping me choose the best Operating System that would be friendly to my wallet.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm pretty satisfied by it: Has very nice features and overall good performance. Also, it helps that I've gotten used to it and know some helpful keyboard shortcuts to maximize efficiency. I've never tried Windows 8, but think I may try it in the near future.

I use Windows 7 Ultra! The big, most expensive one. Can't really tell the difference between it and the other versions.

I'm a linux user ever since. I have to use linux even for my laptop because I usually download anything online. Back when I was still using windows, I get viruses from torrent sites and so to avoid this, I use linux.

I get used to it after a month of experimenting and learning from their forums.

I was one of the first people to upgrade to Windows 8 and I have found it to be rather easy to use, the only thing that annoys me is they seem to have hidden a lot of things and you have to become a detective in order to find them!

I use Windows 10 now. Until a month ago, I was dealing with 8. Like other posters, it's my least favorite OS but when I found another 7 like my old laptop, it was slow. The ironic thing is that my desktop OS is Vista and it works fine.

Hmm... I use a combination of several operating systems. The primary one I use right now is Windows 7. It's been serving me very well for the past few years, and has little to no crashes. I'm thinking of upgrading to Windows 10 in the near future, but still holding off due to some concerns. Probably will start out with a VM or something. The secondary OS I use is Ubuntu, and that's usually for experiments in Linux programming.

Our home computer is already showing signs of old age. First was the keyboard which wouldn't work well so I bought a new wireless keyboard. And now the monitor has a straight horizontal line, an indication that it is about to break down. This morning there were 2 lines already. It is still running on Windows XP and friends are teasing me that it is like a vintage computer already. So maybe I will buy a new one in 2016.

Right now I'm using windows 10. It seems fine, but there were lots of changes from windows 8. It kept some of the old functions and added many new ones.

I use Windows just because it's the default OS of my laptop. I tried installing Linux on my old laptop before but I got really confused on how to customize my laptop's interface. I also discovered that I can't use Microsoft Office for Linux and that's a bummer because I don't know how to use other suites.
