I was browsing in a neighborhood Goodwill when I came across a brand new photo shop program. I thought to myself, "Hey this is a great buy." When I read the system requirements it didn't mention Windows 7 or 8. Again I thought, 'All this software isn't worth buying unless your PC had a compatible operating system."

So, after that realization and knowing that I have upgraded to Windows 8 it is time that I go through my long time treasured software programs and begin to toss. My guess that it's going to be 100%. What percentage of your software have you or do you think will be or has been either upgraded or toss/ed?

I always try to upgrade to the latest operating system. It doesn't really matter what software you buy as long as you have the latest OS, it would mean that the software should run since the newer OS are designed to be backward compatible.

I've been using my PC for a number of years now and since I use it mostly for browsing the web, I've not had to upgrade my browsers [since they work just fine] and even if I did, I wouldn't be able to browse the web because the latest browsers are bloated and because they are resource intensive it would make browsing too slow. Maybe when I get myself a new computer [it will be soon] I might occasionally upgrade software.

I haven't started tossing yet. I'm going to try and see if they will still work. I have a lot of software that I would like to keep.

What do you mean by 'bloated'? I read a lot of words that I'm not familiar with.
