What TYPES of stores do you see the worst customer service at?

    I think the worst kind of service comes in to play at the super stores or bulk chains. They just don't have enough people working to handle the number of people shopping usually. Our local Costco is terrible. Asking for help is like sending a message in a bottle out into the ocean. More likely than not it's just useless.

    I usually get bad customer service from small stores like Fred's Dollar Store. Some time the cashiers have bad attitudes while checking customer out. They feel like they can say anything to the customer and it is ok. There was I time that my husband and I went into Fred's and we was checking out, my husband was singing to his self and the cashier literally not my husband to shut up or she would not check us out. I think that was so rude so I left my item on the counter and left.

    The first place that came to my mind would have to be Walmart. The employees never want to help the customers. They never know the answers. They are also very slow to answer. They never go out of their way I help others. All this is wrong, if you can actually find one on the sales floor.

    Walmart always seems to have a long waiting line for customer service; but other than that i have found them to do a good job, at least the one here that I usually shop at. There are always employees nearby, and they are good to help you find what you are looking for.
    The main store where I do not like to shop is Home Depot. Not only are their prices higher than Lowes , you can NEVER find someone to help you when you can't find something or are not sure if you are finding the right item for the project you are working on.
    Not only that, but they will actually throw out their flowers and garden plants before they will mark them down as sale items. I just love going to Lowes because they always have plants out in the clearance area that you can get for 1/3 to 1/2 of the original price. This summer I got several of the Knockout Roses that sold for $15, and were on clearance for $5.

    I always see the worse customer service at the bigger super stores like Wal Mart. I used to shop there all the time because it's basically a one stop shop which I loved. Over the years the store has gone down hill. I'm speaking for the store in my area, but it has no customer service what so ever. There is never anyone around to help find a product or just ask a question too. I waste more of my time just looking for someone who actually works there. The check out is a joke. There are never enough people working.

    This is a constant thing and not something that happens every so often. I shop now at a smaller grocery store and I love it. Wish I would of known years ago that price isn't always the most important thing!

    I usually find that the places with the worst customer service are fast food places and grocery stores. I've worked in both and customers can be very rude, but that doesn't excuse an employees bad attitude and bad service. I've had co-workers who would just be in bad moods all day and hate any customer that comes through the door.

    Grocery stores are the worst because the cashiers are always negative, rude, or just ignore the customers. I've made attempts to engage a cashier and they've completely ignored me and continued to scan the items. I think it's also partly managements fault. These are the people that they hire and put onto sales floors, counters, and people don't want to deal with it.

    The worst customer service is seen in stores which consists of electronic goods. I do not understand what exactly is the reason for it, but I just hate going to electronic goods stores. They are very rude, and never hospitable with the customers. I prefer to take all my electronic goods from online at a better price also.

    I find some of the worst customer service at individual boutiques that sell various clothing brands. I don't like the way sales ladies try to follow you around and watch you every time you survey a piece of clothing. It's downright rude and it breaks your concentration. I also don't like it when sales ladies question your capacity to afford, as if they prepared your payroll or something.

    I don't usually go into fast food stores. I usually use the drive-through. That way, I don't have to see anybody and I am out of there in the quickest amount of time that is possible. Even still, there doesn't seem to be any way to avoid rude customer service from disgruntled employees who would rather be anywhere but at work, and aren't shy about letting you know it.

    Agreed with this. I usually don't have a problem in the local smaller shops, but going into a Walmart type of store, I can't remember a time where I actually got good service. Even if you can find someone, they usually can't answer your question and have to spend 5 minutes finding someone who can. But you also can't avoid those stores, because of the prices on a lot of goods are so much cheaper than everywhere else. Kind of a catch-22 situation.

    I get the worst customer service in thrift or consignment stores. It seems they are always suspicious you will steal whatever you have your hands on. I want to tell them I wouldn't bother with secondhand goods if thieving was my plan. The USPS is also terrible, Jake.

    Worst customer service for a stores I've experienced were generally upscaled and high-end stores of any type, because the moment I walk into these type of stores, the employees all vulture around to peck me with annoying questions to deter me from staying any longer. It's like they have a "not rich guy" radar set in their minds, and it automatically switches on when I enter. Also I must mention, the prude and arrogant shoppers who gawk and look at me with a face that reads,"Err, aren't you suppose to be shopping elsewhere at the discount stores?" I usually stay around to annoy all of them, try some stuff on, and then leave the place a little more messy than it was before I entered. Besides, I can order all these things online for cheaper anyways, I mostly go to these stores to physically see how good a product is only.

    I cannot say that I have ever been pecked at in upend stores, to be honest. But then again I haven't been in many of them. I have seen this happen and have had this happen to me in many Indian stores though. I'll walk in - usually with my sister or mother - and they are instantly on us, following us down each isle, under the guise that they just want to be there to assist us if we should need anything, when really they are watching to make sure we don't steal anything.
