I'm pretty set on the PS4. Especially after Microsoft's initial announcements (most of which they've gone back on since then, but still), the Xbone left a rather bad taste in my mouth. Plus it has worse hardware for a HIGHER price point, and a hundred bucks is a pretty considerable difference.
You know what, I'm actually gonna get a WiiU! I know I know, its old now, its technically not next gen & its definitely not in the big console race between MS & SONY but: 1. I just love Nintendo & have done since my 1st Nintendo Console (The N64 - I had a Mega Drive, Amiga, Commodore 64, Game Gear & a PC but never a Nintendo before this!) 2. I still haven't played Skyward Sword (I know its available on Wii) 3. Its gonna be nice and cheap come Xmas with hopefully some great deals 4. I love the controller! I don't care how big and heavy it is/look (its not BTW) it is awesome and no other console has the ability (yet of course) to turn of the telly an continue my game on the toilet, none! Errr, yup, that's it
I would also like to throw in the Ouya system. It's a newcomer on the market, but at $99 and considering that it's Android based, it's worth checking out as well. There are currently about 500 games available for it from what I can see on their web site. While I am not sure of the quality of them all, there are some big names on the list including Sega, with a port of Sonic The Hedgehog.
What Next-Gen system will I be getting? More then likely, none of them. My computer is more advanced, stronger, and faster then any of the new consoles coming out. While they're certainly fancy, the actual specs and what they are able to do is still years behind a modern gaming PC. Watching TV, Downloading Movies, Playing Games, Listening to Music, Controlling other devices in my house.. All of that, I've been able to do for the past couple of years without needing a console. I don't see why I need to pay $500 for an XBOX One to do just that. However, if I WERE to get a next-gen system, I'd probably go with the Xbox ONE. While it's $100 more, games like Ryse, Dead Rising 3, and a few others look pretty fun. As for now, some of the discussions/Early looks at games are showing the same problem the 360 and PS3 had where the Textures on PS4 look a bit more washed out/faded then that on the ONE.
I think Wii-U is actually a pretty good purchase, especially if they would bring the price down a little. New consoles will have the same games across multiple platform sooner or later anyway, and Nintendo's games are usually exclusive to their systems so it makes sense to buy it.
I think i'd go with the xbox one I never did like the playstation 3 so I think I will have the same feelings for the new one. I have an xbox 360 now that I love so I think i'd like the xbox one a lot better.
